As we kick off the new school year, the Lions’ Pen would like to share a message from the principal. First we would like you all to know why Mr. Wicks chose the theme SHINE. Mr. Wicks stated, “I chose something that would relate to our 20th anniversary. Some of the things I was coming up with were a lasting impact, lasting light, or light that shines the brightest. I wanted it to be relatable for the current students as well as representing what we have been doing for the last 20 years. I wanted the students to recognize the need for light in this world. “Everywhere we go there is a need for the light which is seen first from God.” The verse that corresponds to our theme SHINE is Mathew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.” Lastly, we asked what his goal for this school year is and he said, “I’d like this year to be a growth year not only for the students but for our school and just to be able to see a good tribute to the years behind us and also a good perspective of what the future is going to look like.” Our principal has been a great example of what it takes to make a difference and shine, not only in our community but in the world. We thank him for having the vision to better our school and provide the right education for us students.
