Parents came out for the 2016-2017 First Baptist School year with bells on their feet. Mr. Wicks (Principal) gave an exciting update for the coming school year. The school has had many updates since the last year, among them: new heating and air conditioning units, new computer spelling program, new cell phone policies for high-school, new security cameras, and much more. The theme, as Mr. Wicks explained, is "Greater Than." This comes from the Scripture verse I John 4:4, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because GREATER is he that is in you, THAN he that is in the world." No that is not a peace sign Mr. Wicks is holding up, it's a greater than sign. This year we will be emphasizing to students that God is greater than any thing in the world, but also that there is a greater than option with every decision. Every day the students will be making greater than or less than choices, such as, do my homework or watch TV, be kind or be selfish; there are many other such examples. We are excited to start this new school year, because we can be GREATER THAN any obstacle that we face.
